Registration for the Polar Bear Trail opens on September 8

On September 8, registration for the Polar Bear Trail officially opens. Anyone wishing to dive into the Savelsbos again this winter had better not wait too long: only 1,200 bibs are available and the Polar Bear Trail sells out completely every year. Winter trail through the Savelsbos

The Polar Bear Trail has now become a regular fixture on the winter calendar. Year after year, trail runners gather for a challenging journey across the narrow paths, steep climbs and technical passages of the Savelsbos.

The route leads through a special nature reserve and combines everything a real winter trail needs: forest, elevation gain, mud and – if the weather gods cooperate – perhaps even snow and freezing cold.

So not a mass event, but a trail where nature and the course are central.

Only 1,200 bibs

To respect the character of the race and the environment, the number of participants remains limited to 1,200 runners.

And that limit is not just a random number. Previous editions sold out completely every single time. Anyone who wants to be sure to be at the start is best to register in time.

Registration opens on September 8.

From then on, it is simply: full = full.

Which Polar Bear are you?

Whether you come to race all-out, challenge yourself on the longer distance, or simply want to experience a solid winter trail: the Polar Bear Trail offers various distances for both experienced trail runners and runners taking their first steps on the trails.

All distances have one thing in common: you won't be served a flat loop over wide forest paths. Expect a real trail course through one of the most beautiful nature reserves in South Limburg.

✅ Registration open: September 8
✅ Maximum: 1,200 participants
✅ Sold out every year

Put September 8 in your calendar and secure a bib in good time for the next Polar Bear Trail.
