🚗 MOBILITY & PARKING
During the HouffaTrail, Houffalize is the beating heart of the event. Keep in mind that it can be busy in and around the center on race day.
A few tips:
- Arrive well on time.
- Follow the official parking and event signage.
- Park exclusively in designated parking spots.
- Allow extra travel time when driving to another support point during the race.
Do you want to visit different points along the course? Plan your trips in advance and try not to chase after your runner. Due to the course layout or local traffic situation, some aid stations are difficult or impossible to reach by car.

Here's how it works:

- Search for the HouffaTrail.
- Find your favorite runner.
- Add him or her to your favorites.
- Follow the race live.
⚠️ : install/open Livio Live before the start and select your favorite runners in advance. That way you're ready to go during the race.
🥤 AID STATIONS & ACCESSIBILITY
The aid stations are great places to see your runner again, but not every aid station is accessible by car or open to crew and supporters.
This is important in Houffalize: a large part of the HouffaTrail runs along narrow roads, forest paths, and trails where car traffic is neither desirable nor possible.
Therefore, always check Livio Live before heading to an aid station.
In the app you will find:
- the location of the aid stations;
- information about accessibility ( some are off-limits to supporters )
- which points are accessible for crew/supporters;
- the course route;
- practical race information.

Is an aid station not accessible for crew? Please respect this. That way we keep the course safe and avoid extra traffic on narrow roads.
📣 BEST SPOTS TO CHEER
Do you want to see your runner multiple times? Then a little preparation is key.
Houffalize or Hotel Vayamundo itself is naturally one of the best places to experience the race. This is where you'll find the start and finish area, ensuring you see your runner at the beginning and end of their adventure.
For the longer distances, there are also interesting spectating spots in the surrounding villages and valleys.
Achouffe, for example, is a great location to keep an eye on for courses that pass through here. Other potential spectator spots and aid stations vary by distance.
Therefore, use Livio Live as your personal support planner:
Check your runner → choose an accessible spot → navigate there → SUPPORT! 📣
Don't try to visit as many points as possible. Two or three well-chosen support moments are much more fun and realistic than driving after your runner all day long.
And don't underestimate the distances: 10 km for a trail runner can sometimes be faster than 10 km by car on narrow Ardennes roads.
🌲 DON'T FEEL LIKE FOLLOWING ALL DAY?
Don't feel like standing along the course all day? No problem. Houffalize is a great place to pass a few hours.
Take a walk through Houffalize or the surrounding nature, explore the center, find a cozy spot for a coffee or lunch, or head towards Achouffe.
For families, Houtopia in the center of Houffalize is also an option.
In Hotel Vayamundo - where the start and finish are located - there is a subtropical swimming paradise and an indoor playground!
Would you rather head into nature? The region around Houffalize is right in the heart of the Ardennes and offers plenty of opportunities for short walks and scenic viewpoints.
